Parents play a crucial role to support the players and coaches before, during, and after the season. The ability for parents to actively participate in the team’s support, allows the coaching team to manage and prepare the team.

Athletic Clearance
All RHS athletes wanting to participate in CIF sponsored sports over the summer or during the regular school year, MUST register and complete the Athletic Clearance process on-line through Home Campus. Athletes must be cleared before participating in a sport, including tryouts each school year. For the 2024-2025 school year, applications open 5/16/24 and sports physicals must be dated on or after 5/15/24. Sports clearances will be done through 6/14/24 and will start again 7/15/24. No clearances will be done 6/16/24 through 7/12/24. Please visit the RHS Athletic Clearance Process page for information and instructions to complete the sports clearance.

Contacting Coaches

The RHS Girls Volleyball coaches can be contacted anytime to discuss constructive ideas or suggestions to help support the student athletes or the program.

Fundraising
Parents (and student athletes) should participate on the team fundraising committees to help generate funding for the team season and events. The team season funding typically supports equipment (i.e., new balls, jerseys, nets, shirts, etc.), tournaments, team-building, and other events as needed.

Game/Match Tickets

All home and visiting game tickets can be purchased through Go Fan.

League - Foothill Valley League (FVL)

Starting in the 2024 season, RHS will be moving to the FVL, division 3. According to the 2024-28 CIF Sac-Jaquin Section League Assignments, RHS will be in the FVL with the following other high schools:

  • Del Campo, Nevada Union, Placer, River Valley, Twelve Bridges, and Yuba City

Prior to the 2024 season, RHS was part of the Capital Valley Conference (CVC), division 2. The move from CVC to FVL was due to declining student enrollment at RHS.

NFHS Network

Matches that utilize the NFHS Network broadcast their home games when available. The NFHS Network is a subscription service and provides an ability for family members to watch available games.

RHS Boosters Club
The RHS Boosters Club is a volunteer, non-profit organization that is supported by RHS administration. The club supports all RHS athletic programs by providing additional financial support through the purchase of needed equipment and uniforms. The monies disbursed to the individual sports are raised through various fund-raising efforts including the operation of snack bars, annual crab feed, Tiger wear sales, fireworks booth, membership fees, and donations.

RHS/RJUHSD Chaperones/Volunteers

To assist with overnight field trips and other school events, RHS and the Roseville Joint Union High School District (RJUHSD) requires adults to be certified volunteers. The Roseville Joint Union High School District Volunteer Handbook can be accessed through the RJUHSD Human Resources page. Becoming a certified volunteer is a fairly simple process that involves the following:

  1. Read the RJUHSD Volunteer Handbook
  2. Submit signed Volunteer Application
  3. Complete New Volunteer Packet
  4. Live Scan Fingerprint Clearance
  5. Check in through Visitor Management System at the front office when volunteering
  6. Submit to a tuberculosis clearance

RHS/RJUHSD Drivers

RHS Spirit Gear

Visit the Roseville Tiger's BSN Sideline Store for all your spirit gear options.

Season Events

Besides the team parent role, parents should support and participate with the following season events:

Dig-Pink

This event is designed to create awareness and support breast cancer awareness. A home game is identified for this event. Past Dig Pink events have included a bake sale, auction of gifts or treats during timeouts or between sets, guest speakers, etc. A league-approved volleyball with pink can be used and student athletes will wear pink (jerseys, shirts, socks, etc.) in support of the event.

2024 Dig Pink Coordination Members: TBD

Secret Sisters

This is a team event where all student athletes will participate in an exchange of gifts. Each student athlete completes a questionnaire so their "sister" will have a better understanding of the gift to purchase or make. Students will also create posters of their "sister" and on the day of the event, the secret sisters will surprise the other "sister" and exchange the poster and gift. The coordination team will help coordinate the distribution and collection of the questionnaires and establish the "secret sister" roster.

2024 Secret Sister Coordination Members: TBD

Senior Night

This event recognizes our Senior Students for their RHS volleyball career. The last home game is typically identified for Senior Night and involves each senior student being provided an appreciation gift and walking out with their families while a "letter" is read by an announcer. A planning and coordination team should be constructed to create a memorable event.

2024 Senior Night Coordinator Members: TBD

Season Videos

During the season, the coaches may provide courtesy videos of the matches for each team and pending availability. It should be understood that not all games will be recorded and the student athletes or parents can record their own videos. Alternatively, some games are available for live or on-demand viewing through the NFSH Network. Please see the "NFSH Network" section on this page for additional information.

For the 2024 season, the following YouTube playlists have been created for students and/or parent to access:

2024 Varsity YouTube Playlist

2024 Junior Varsity YouTube Playlist

2024 Freshmen/Sophomore YouTube Playlist

Season Celebration/Party

After the season has been completed, the program will host a season-celebration to recognize student athletes for their achievements. Typically, each team is recognized and provides awards to recognized performers. All-conference, second-team, and the senior students are recognized. The season celebration may be held on campus (i.e., in the cafeteria or other suitable location) or off-campus (i.e., Woodcreek Golf Club Banquet Room or similar) pending availability and costs. The RHS Program Coach may authorize boosters club funding to help support the payment of awards/trophies and associated costs for the celebration.

Social Media

As of 1/30/24, the RHS Girls Volleyball Program does not have any official social media accounts. The program is planning to develop and utilize social media (i.e., Facebook and Instagram) to help market and advertise the program.

Sportsmanship
All parents are required to demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times. Positive support and cheers are encouraged for our team rather than against the opposition. Refrain from booing and name-calling. Respect the officials' judgment and interpretation of the rules. Please exhibit respect for the visiting and home coaches, athletes, and other fans. Be a fan of character as we "Pursue Victory with Honor."

Student Early Dismissal from Class
For away games that require early dismissal, the Varsity coach will notify RHS administration and authorize students to be released to allow travel and arrival to the visiting game school location.

Student Transportation and Away Game Releases
For all home and some nearby matches (i.e., Woodcreek High School), students will need to have their own transportation to and from games. Coaches will coordinate a bus transportation to some away games. Parents have the ability to transport students from an away location only after they have completed/signed the appropriate authorization release form and provided it to the coaches. Students that do not have a ride from a visiting location will be provided transportation only if a bus or other district-approved vehicle is available.

Team Building

To assist with team cohesion and unity, the teams or entire volleyball program will schedule team building events that may require costs to be paid by the families for their student. If booster funds for the girl volleyball program are available and the head coach of the program approves, the program will cover the costs of the team building event.

Team Parents
Each team within the program should have a minimum of one team parent. It is encouraged for each team to identify two parents so the support can be distributed and not burden one person. The role of the team parent is to provide leadership, organization, and communication to the team parents. Coaches will be available for updates and will communicate information and updates to the players.

Team Photos (individual) and Varsity Team and Senior Banners
The program will coordinate with a photographer to conduct a photo-shoot for team and individual photos. The photographer will also coordinate and develop the Varsity Team and Senior Banners. Team parents should assist with the display of the Varsity and Senior Banners in the Auxiliary and Moeller gyms for all home games.
